If you’re planning a trip to the shores of North Carolina, you might be interested in learning about some of the fun day trips from Carolina Beach. While there are plenty of places worth checking out, we recommend you take some time to visit Wrightsville Beach!
This little destination is criminally underrated and is sure to help you and your family make unforgettable memories together during your trip.
Things to Do in Wrightsville Beach
If you make your way to Wrightsville Beach, what is there to do in the area? Of course, you can start by visiting the beach itself! Since this area isn’t as popular as places like Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, you can rest assured there will be plenty of space on the shoreline for you and your group. Soak up the sun on the shore or hop in the water to cool off on a hot day.
Right near the beach itself is Wrightsville Beach Park. This inclusive playground aims to make sure that every kid has a fun place to play regardless of ability! Enjoy features like the wheelchair swing, Aero Glider, half a dozen slides, Wacky Log, climbing tunnel, and tons of sensory components.
When you want to enjoy an adult beverage near the beach, head to Lighthouse Beer and Wine. This shop opened in 1998 and has been a local staple ever since. You can find all your favorite national brands as well as local craft options, offering something for every palate to enjoy. You can come inside to browse the selections, or if you already know what you want, pick it up curbside or at the Garden Window!
Last but not least, you’ve got to stop and grab a bite to eat at Tower 7. This delicious Baja Mexican grill has been in the area since 2001 and is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming for all who enter, and the prices can’t be beat! For the adults in your group, be sure to enjoy a delicious fresh margarita with your meal!
