Weather in Kure Beach fluctuates throughout the year and can be a big factor when you’re deciding on your upcoming vacation dates. Before going, it’s always important to know what type of weather you’ll be dealing with.
While this list won’t tell you what the temperature of the day will be, you’ll get a good understanding of the average weather and how to pack for your stay in Kure Beach.
Weather Overview
Spring in Kure Beach is by far the season with the most change. Average temperatures range from the high 50s at the beginning of spring to the mid 70s at the end of spring. The area can receive up to five inches of rain per month during the latter part of spring but is still dry compared to other parts of the year.
Summer in Kure Beach is certainly the hottest part of the year. The average temperature hovers around the high 70s and low 80s with certain days reaching to the high 80s and low 90s. With this heat comes a plethora of rain. During this time of the year, the average rainfall can exceed seven inches of rain per month making this the wettest part of the year. This is, in part, due to hurricane season. However, there is still plenty of things to do in Kure Beach!
Fall in Kure Beach is a magical time of the year. Much like Spring, there are mass temperature fluctuations, but in the opposite direction.

Temperatures will start on average in the mid 70s before coming down to the high 40s before the end of the season. With that being said, hurricane season is ending which leads to the drier period of the year. Average rainfall will range between 3.2 and 3.7 inches of rain per month.
Winter in Kure Beach is by far the coldest time of the year. Average temperatures will range from the mid 40s at the beginning of the season to the mid 50s by the end of the season. Despite warming back up, there is not much of an increase in rain with the average monthly rainfall being approximately four inches. Although a little cold, Kure Beach is a beautiful place to spend the holiday season!
What to Pack
What you plan to pack ultimately depends on what time of the year you decide to visit. If you’re planning a Kure Beach vacation in the summer, you’ll definitely want to bring short-sleeved shirts and shorts with you, as well as sun protection like a hat and sunscreen. In the winter, you’ll need to bring long pants and a jacket to keep you warm throughout your daily activities.

There are a few items that would benefit you no matter when you choose to visit. At least a light jacket or an umbrella will always come in handy, since there’s at least a slight chance of rain all year long. You’ll also be thankful for a sturdy, comfortable pair of tennis shoes to protect your feet with all the walking you’ll be doing. Finally, be sure to bring any electronics you’ll need (this might include your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or camera) as well as the appropriate chargers.
