Tony Silvagni Surf School
This surf school provides professional, certified instructors who all share a passion for the ocean and outdoors. Instructors are CPR, AED, and first aid certified. Surf camps run through summer months and over spring break, providing a week’s worth of morning and afternoon lessons. For $290, students receive 10 hours of professional instruction.
Private or group lessons are also available. For $60 per person, students receive an hour of one-on-one instruction. Group lessons cost $50 per person and provide one instructor for every two students. If surfing isn’t your thing, consider stand-up paddleboarding. Private lessons cost $50 per hour. Groups of up to 20 can be accommodated at $40 per person.
For special events, consider booking a surfing or paddle-boarding party! Groups of all sizes can be accommodated. Equipment is provided, and instructors are available to help.

Kure Beach Surf Camp

Join Kure Beach Surf Camp instructors for a three-day family surf camp, taught using a professional methodology. The camps run from Tuesday to Thursday and are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Many other surf camp opportunities for kids, families, and adults are also available. For an individualized experience, book a private (one student to one instructor) or semi-private (two students to one instructor) lesson. There are also private and public group lessons (three students to an instructor). Lessons typically last two to three hours.
Other services include surfboard and paddleboard rentals, lifeguard, CPR, and surf instructor certification. Their office is located at 222 Causeway Drive. Reservations can be made in advance by phone or email.
Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School
Based in the heart of Carolina Beach, this watersports school provides a wide range of on-the-water adventures and offers years of local experience and expertise. Week-long surf camps cover all the basics of surfing and will get you riding the waves in no time.
Private and group lessons are available for kiteboarding, surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding, and they take place along the Cape Fear coastline with many creeks and channels worth exploring. Instructors are qualified to teach newbies, pros, and everyone in between. Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School cater to everyone, whatever their preferences and skill level.
