Carolina Beach

Carolina Beach is a lovely family escape, filled with spectacular and clear views of the ocean and a quiet coastline of inspiring beauty.

This quiet coastal escape isn’t filled to the brim with loud amenities and big buildings. What you do have is soft sand, coastal wildlife, and iconic lifeguard towers.

Carolina Beach is the defining beach haven on Pleasure Island, and a worthwhile place to spend long afternoons under the sun. One of its highlights is the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier. The fishing pier is a lovely place to see the ocean. This pier, with its recent northern extension, has a full grill and breakfast stop.

Carolina Beach has an effective ParkMobile platform. Guests can pay for their parking through the app. It can suggest nearby zones best for parking and avoiding crowds. You can link your payment to a VISA checkout card. For added convenience. Time paid parking is seasonally enforced from April 1st to October 31st, from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. all seven days of the week. Parking fees will restart at the beginning of the next day, so 24-hour parking is not allowed.

Both Kure Beach and Carolina Beach allow for pets as long as they are on a leash no longer than 16 inches. It is a great way to take your furriest family member along for the trip.

Kure Beach

Kure Beach is an extensive beach area on Pleasure Island. Across its wide span, it has eight public beach access points. At its southern point is the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, an observation area and historic fort from the Civil War.

The most popular point at Kure Beach is the famous Kure Beach Pier. The pier is widely considered the oldest fishing pier along the east coast. It offers dazzling sights of the ocean and some truly epic fishing opportunities. Fish for bluefish, sea trout, striped bass, and other top species.

The eight beach access points all feature free parking. If the lots are full, which is possible during peak seasons, you can also park along Fort Fisher Boulevard. The parking spots are clearly marked.

Lastly, the popular historic site and park, Fort Fisher, is an extremely useful place to park for the afternoon. The Fort Fisher State Recreation Area has facilities and free amenities, including a picnic area and outdoor shower stations.

Kure Beach is one of the area’s top destinations, as vacationers and locals alike flock to its sandy shores.
