Looking for Something Classy & Fun for New Years Eve? Save the Night! A Charity Masquerade Event Benefiting Victims of Human Trafficking

The countdown to the biggest night of the year has begun! While everyone is still in the Christmas mindset, New Years Eve is right around the corner. What better way to celebrate the New Year by welcoming it in at a Black Tie Masquerade?   The Centre of Redemption is hosting their first annual Save The Night, a masquerade event. This event includes music, open bar, hors d’ oeuvres, dessert, a champagne toast & a silent auction. Most of all it includes you giving the gift of hope and support. Centre of Redemption is a nonprofit organization that offers a safe house for sex trafficking in Wilmington. The safe house offers safe long-term housing, education, counseling and life skills aiding in their integration to independence. They provide food, shelter, transportation, and child care.  COR also helps survivors who are pregnant that wish to keep their baby or who wish to set up and adoption plan.  It is weird and uncomfortable to think scenes from the popular movie “Taken” can happen in the “laid back city” of Wilmington, NC. It happens. The truth is: North Carolina is consistently ranked in the top 10 worst states for sex trafficking in the US. According to UNICEF, every 2 minutes a child is being prepared for sexual exploitation. Along with the safe house, COR has established “A Safe Place.” This program assists victims by having a toll free anonymous hotline available for victims, tipsters, and general info. By attending this Black Tie Masquerade, you are giving these girls a chance to put the pieces of their broken future back together.  The masquerade will take place on December 31st, 2012 at St. Thomas Preservation Hall, 208 Dock Street Wilmington, NC 28401. The Formal Masquerade event will begin at 9 PM – 1 AM. Admission is $150 per ticket. For more information for Save The Night or COR, Please visit  https://www.savethenight.org/  910.208.0179
