Celebrate With Labor Day Weekend Events
It’s no secret that one of the best things you can do during a holiday vacation is to enjoy the local events around the area, and Carolina Beach is no different. Enjoy the spirit of the local community and make time to visit and explore some of the happenings around town during the long weekend.
End of Season Foam Party

Enjoy a sudsy end-of-the-season celebration at Ocean Front Park! Head to the park on September 4th for a silly time at this free public event, great for young children and families.
Fireworks by the Sea & Boardwalk Blast
Come on down to the final installment of this recurring local event for the year. Boardwalk Blast invites the community to enjoy food, shopping, and live music around the town’s boardwalk area, a central hub featuring plenty of dining and shopping for you to do in between local vendors and the live show at the event. CBMA Group of the Year winner, Too Much Sylvia, is set to perform at this event on September 4.
SeaWitch Café & Tiki Bar Outdoor Music Concert

Right between the Carolina Beach Marina and the Boardwalk is where you’ll find this fun outdoor concert happening on both Saturday and Sunday at SeaWitch Café & Tiki Bar. Enjoy the local sounds while sipping delicious drinks and dancing the night away with locals and visitors alike.
Spend Your Last Days of Summer on the Beach

It’s what gives the area its name, so why not enjoy the beach? The area offers many shorelines and access points for you to enjoy. Head to Carolina Beach for a more traditional vacation vibe or make the trip to Kure Beach for a more secluded and peaceful time, during which you can spread out and enjoy the shoreline for yourself!
Explore the Carolina Beach Boardwalk

Even if there isn’t an event happening, it’s always a great time to walk around and see what’s going on at the Boardwalk. Aside from the local shopping and waterfront dining, the boardwalk also offers several amusement rides for kids, and since it’s the town’s social hub, it usually offers some kind of music or performance for you to enjoy. Even if you don’t plan to spend your money here, it’s great to simply walk around, grab a seat, and enjoy the ocean view.
Take a Day Trip to Fort Fisher

Take a short trip down to this town sitting just 5 miles away, featuring a real Civil War Historic Site. The fort was built in 1861 and was attacked by the Union Army twice during the war. Today, it serves as a recreation area, allowing you to step back in time to explore the history of the area and the nation as a whole. The park also features a short 1-mile trail that’s easy for just about anyone and gives you great views of the maritime forest along the way.
Tips for Having a Great Labor Day Weekend on the Coast
The best thing about spending your vacation in Carolina and Kure Beach is the convenience and relaxation the areas offer. Even with that, there are a few things to remember to make the most of your Labor Day escape:
- Book early: holiday weekends bring higher demand
- Arrive at the beach early for easier parking and setup
- Expect traffic, especially arriving at and leaving from Pleasure Island
- Make restaurant plans ahead of time for popular dinner spots
- Pack for warm weather, but watch the forecast
