Pleasure Island is a popular spot for tourists to the Carolina Beach area and now has a brand new attraction! Locals and tourists alike can now go play at Poppy’s Palace Arcade. The former paint store has been under renovation for about a year and has now opened just in time for tourist season.
Jim and Jennifer Kitts opened the arcade in honor of Jim’s grandfather. His “Poppy” used to take him to arcades while on vacation in the Outer Banks. He wanted to give the opportunity to a new generation to make memories the way he did when he was a kid.
Poppy’s Palace Arcade will be open year-round, extending hours in the peak summer season. Right now, the arcade is open Thursday – Sunday in the evening from 5 pm – 10 pm. If you are planning a trip or are a local to the Carolina Beach area, get out and support the new business while creating new, fun memories.
